Having followers on Facebook is important if what you want is to make yourself known on the Internet or generate income through this platform.
If you have a business, a blog or a website that you want to promote through this social network, you will have realized that the fans you get on Facebook can become visits and potential clients for your venture with enormous value.
Even if you just want to make money from a Facebook page, the more followers you have, the higher the profits.
But how do you have more followers on Facebook than you already have to grow your audience?
There is no magic formula to achieve this, but here I am going to share 11 secret strategies that very few people use, and that will guarantee more fans to follow your page to reach more people.

1. Complete all the data of your profile
Facebook pages offer a tremendous level of detail and information. In them you can put the physical address of your business, the link to your website, a description of what your page is about, what types of products you offer …
And precisely filling in all the possible data in this section is what will make you get more followers on Facebook.
If you arrive at a Facebook page where they do not give you any information (what it is about, if it is a business, a website or a blog, what is the web address, etc.), chances are you will look at it during less than a minute, and then you leave without becoming a follower.
The same thing happens to people who visit your Facebook profile: if they do not know who or what company you are, or what you offer, and they have to discover it, they will not be your followers.
So fill in all the possible fields, such as the description, website (if you have one), upload a profile photo and a cover photo, your email or phone if you are a business, etc.
2. Invite your friends to your page
It may seem silly, but inviting your friends who have added to your personal Facebook profile to follow your page can make you get many more fans than you think.
With this strategy, not only will your personal contacts see your page and become your followers; When they do and share your content, their friends will also see it in the biographies of your contacts and there will be a good chance that they will start to follow you.
To do so, you just have to enter your Facebook page, click on the button with three dots there, click on the option “Invite friends”, and select all the contacts on your list to send them a message so that they can unite.

It is most recommended that you place this box on the main page of your site, and in a place that is visible such as at the top of your website, or in the sidebar on the right so that whoever enters, sees it immediately.
To create it, you just have to go to the Facebook plugins page, configure the options you want, and copy and paste the code that they provide you on your site.
4. Create a Facebook ad to promote yourself
This option will cost you a little money; But if you have some budget (about $ 25 will be enough) it can help you a lot to increase the number of followers of your profile.
It is about creating an ad within Facebook itself to promote your page that will be shown to other users and, if they are interested, they will click to be your fans.
To do this, enter your Facebook page, and in the menu on the left, you will see a blue button that says “Promote page”. Click on it, and a new screen will appear to configure your options.
On this screen, you must specify the country you are going to, the age of the person you want to see the ad, the gender, what interests that person you want the ad to see, and finally, your budget to show the ad every day and your payment methods.
An example: imagine that you have a blog in Spanish where you talk about nutrition and exercise, most of your readers are women between 25 and 32 years old approximately, and you have created a Facebook page to promote it.
In the country you would select yours or where most of your readers come from, in age you would put 25 to 32 years, in sex you would choose the option “Women”, and in interests you can select terms such as “healthy diet”, “physical exercise”, “Exercise at home” …
Here it is very important that you configure the ad only for those people who may be interested in your niche. If you don’t, you will have wasted your money on an ad.
5. Make a call to action on your page
There is no better way on the Internet to achieve a specific objective than by giving a direct order. And you can also use this to have followers on Facebook by creating a call to action.
This consists of putting a text on your website or blog that gives your visitors a direct order to become your fans, accompanied by an image or a link to your Facebook page.
The phrases you can use are for example “follow me on Facebook”, “talk to me on Facebook”, “become a fan” …
Ideally, you should put this call to action somewhere visible on your page, such as at the top or in the right sidebar.
6. Optimize your Facebook page
When I talk about optimizing your Facebook page, I mean that you search for keywords related to your page, and add them on sites such as the description or the title.
If your page is about cell phones, for example, some keywords related to that could be “technology”, “gadgets”, “electronics”, “smartphone”, “android” …
So take a good look at the theme of your site, make a list of the 5 keywords most related to it, and add them to the information on your page as you can see in the image below.
In this way, people who search for any of these keywords on Facebook will be able to find your page more easily, and you will have more possibilities of becoming your fans.
7. Share your posts on your personal profile
In point, 2 I already told you that a good way to have followers on Facebook is by inviting your friends. But there is another method also to “use” them to attract more fans to your page.
It is about the content that you publish on your Facebook page (images, videos, links, text) that you also share on your personal profile on this social network.
In this way, the friends you have added (and who are not followers of your Facebook page) will probably see it, like it and share it in their bio.
And so, the friends of your friends will also see it, they will enter your Facebook page, and very possibly they will become your followers.

8. Share relevant content
A huge mistake that I see every day on many Facebook pages is that of administrators sharing content that has nothing to do with the page itself.

NEVER do this.
Your fans do not follow you to see photos with your children on the beach, nor are they interested in whether you like to watch Game of Thrones or The Simpsons. What they want is to see content related to what you offer.

But never put other publications that have nothing to do with the theme of your page.

You can post videos as tutorials, news related to your topic, photos of your products or how you make them, etc.
These types of content are the ones that I like the most and are shared the most, and as a result, your page will get more followers thanks to it.
10. Promote your page in other media
When you create a Facebook page, don’t expect magically overnight to get 1,000 more fans doing nothing.
Apart from the previous strategies, you also have to promote it on other sites outside of Facebook.
And for that, here I share some ideas that have worked very well for me on other occasions:
- Promote your Facebook page on other social networks: if you have a profile on sites like Twitter, Google+, or Instagram, ask your followers on those platforms from time to time (once a month, for example) to join you too on Facebook.
- Send a direct message on Twitter: if you have a Twitter account, when someone starts to follow you send them a small message thanking them and asking that your Facebook follower also be sent the link to your page.
- Put your link in your signature: in your emails, if you are registered in a forum, or by any other similar means, you can add to your signature a link to your Facebook page accompanied by a text asking for your followers to become. So, every time you send an email or leave a reply in a forum, people will see it and they can become your fans.
11. Regularly post content
The last strategy may seem silly, but it is important to remind yourself: post content on your Facebook page as regularly as you can.
My advice is to post on it at least twice every day so that your followers don’t get bored and attract more fans.
Why? Because if you have your page out of date, and someone who finds it enters it and sees that you have not published anything for a week or a month, they will think that it is an abandoned profile or that it is not worth becoming a follower because of the little content it has.
